Primary Education in India
India's future certainly lies in the kind of primary education that is provided to their children whether in the rural or urban pockets of the country. It is the onus of the primary education to build up the future citizen of India who will be able to shoulder all responsibilities to be a good citizen of the country. This is one niche that if honed upon and done really well will be able to reap immense benefits for the country.
The government has rightly drawn the focus of the citizens towards the importance of primary education and not only secondary or higher education. The key lies in being able to tap the young impressionable mind at the right age and ensure that the seeds of growth and progress are sown in them. The first thing that needs to be looked into is that primary education is available to all Indian children. The government has passed a right to education wherein all children up to the age of 14 are eligible for free education and not sending them to school makes the parents responsible and even liable to a jail term.
The government has also tried really hard to bring about no gender divide and ensure that girls are given equal opportunity to be able to get themselves educated and not only the sons of the family. There are several innovative methods that have been drawn upon right from roping in of corporate to help out monetarily and to teach, computer education made mandatory and regular teacher training workshops to be conducted.
The way the primary education is changing in India is that there is less pressure put on the tiny tots to rote learn either by the parents or the education system. There has been a paradigm shift towards primary education by the entire stake holders be they the parents, the schools or the teachers themselves. No longer are only intellectually inclined children acknowledged but also those that have multiple intelligences and talents. Whatever deficiencies are being noted in the primary education are being ironed out in order to try and give the child a holistic environment and experience right from the primary school. This ensures that the dropout rate for the children is curbed and all the amount invested, efforts and hard work put in does not go into vane. Primary education will be able to deliver the best of outcomes provided it looks at the needs of the child and the industry and try to match both of those.
There are several bits of awareness that has been brought about by the media and the government on primary education. All of this has ensured that primary education is a booming sector in India and will continue to scale several heights in the years to come.
In fact, this is the very first time that primary education is being given such an impetus and all things done to make it viable for one.
